There was plenty of love for our daughter, but at the same time, I was completely overwhelmed.

About Amolivia
On January 4, 2024, Patrick & Iris became the proud parents of Olivia-Sofia. During this time, we discovered how many uncertainties there are surrounding pregnancy and the initial period as parents. We also realized how important it is to experience this period mindfully and without stress. With Amolivia, we want to support (expectant) parents as best as possible on their journey to and during parenthood. We do this to prevent other parents from going through the same experiences we did.

When my world was turned upside down
At 20, I became unexpectedly pregnant and my world was turned completely upside down. Living together in a small apartment, we quickly had to look for a larger home, which was a significant challenge due to the tight housing market. Throughout my entire pregnancy, everything felt unreal. As we were constantly busy arranging all sorts of things, I couldn't really reflect on what was about to happen and experienced a lot of stress.

From panic attacks to postnatal depression
After the birth, all this surfaced and 2 days after delivery, I started experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. This eventually resulted in a postnatal depression. My love for our daughter Olivia-Sofia was abundant, but at the same time, I was completely overwhelmed by everything that came my way as a young mother. This led to me, after weeks of IHT (Intensive Home Treatment), eventually being admitted to the mother-baby unit at the Sint Antonius Hospital in Utrecht. Here, together with other mothers experiencing similar problems, I worked hard on my recovery, and the idea for Amolivia was born. Amolivia aims to support (expecting) parents as best as possible on their journey to and during parenthood.
Many mothers are insufficiently prepared for the emotional rollercoaster of parenthood.
The Rise of Amolivia

We developed a pregnancy diary that not only allows expectant parents to record memories, but also provides practical information and tips.

Seen and heard
I know better than anyone how important it is for mothers to be seen and heard, and for support to be provided in a timely manner.
